簡介

蕾絲（lace）給人的印象不過就是一種輕柔嫵媚的裝飾物，但它實際上承載了一段長達數百年的歷史，其生產由歐洲延伸到香港和內地，涉及工業技術、藝術設計、不同階層的審美與消費等各個方面。這趟精心籌劃的工業遺產之旅，專業導師與同學一起走訪英法的博物館、公司、工廠、大學檔案，與法國業界的前輩和傳人傾談，用嶄新獨特的方式學習歷史，理解傳統工業如何在21世紀持續與更新。

Lace may seem to people nothing more than a soft, delicate, and feminine ornament, yet it has a history spanning hundreds of years. Its production spread from Europe to Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, encompassing industrial technology, artistic design, and the aesthetics and consumption of different social classes.  On this carefully curated industrial heritage tour, professional instructors and students will visit museums, enterprises, factories and university archives in Britain and France, and have in-depth conversations with veterans and inheritors of the French lace industry. It offers a fresh and distinctive way to study history and understand how traditional industries can sustain and renew themselves in the 21st century.
